Zero-shot learning — Zero-shot learning is a model’s ability to perform a task it was given no examples of, using only instructions. Asking a model to translate a sentence into French without showing any sample translations is zero-shot. Large models are surprisingly good at it. It shows how much general skill they gain from pretraining.
