Microdata — Microdata is an older way of adding structured data by placing attributes inside a page’s visible HTML. It works, but it mixes data with design and is harder to maintain than JSON-LD. Many older themes and plugins still output it. Having microdata and JSON-LD that disagree creates conflicting identity signals.
