Canonical tag — A canonical tag is a line in a page’s HTML that tells search engines which address is the official one for that page. It solves duplicate content for pages, but there is no equally strong tool for whole entities. A canonical tag pointing to the wrong page can hide content from search engines. Page Check reports canonical tags that point elsewhere.
