Canonical record — The canonical record is the locked, master version of a business’s identity facts, such as its legal name, address, phone number, and website address. Every listing, profile, and page copies its facts from this record. You decide the record before you change anything anywhere, because changing listings without it creates new inconsistencies. It is a governed record, not a web page.
