Unique Entity ID (UEI) — The Unique Entity ID is a 12-character identifier the US government assigns to organizations doing business with federal agencies, through the SAM.gov system. It replaced the D-U-N-S Number for federal purposes. It identifies government contractors and grant recipients. Businesses that have one can include it in their canonical record.
